Dragons, a Family Affair

It’s not often that you can say dragons run in your family.
Writing this post gave me pause. In looking back at the tattoos, I realize I can’t quite put an exact finger on the characters. While I initially thought dragons, the artwork is a very cool blend of snake, fire, dragons and human qualities.
While this is all very intimidating, if you were to run into such a creature in the wild, the backstory is anything but….
Tattoo’s have run in this family for generations. The grandfather and the father were both tattoo artists (see the homage below). I learned of this from the oldest son, who was kind enough to share these very cools tattoos he had. Four “heads of fire” , one for each sibling; himself, his sister and two younger brothers. A span of about 6 years between them all.
This sleeve of tattoos ran down his arm, which I captured in 3 photos. This first one being the top-most of the collage, the owner and oldest brother being depicted here looking right at you.
I have to say the shadowing and layering of the fire and figures is very well done once you take a second to admire it.
You can see the rest of the collage posted below along with the owners first tattoo, the reaper, and a photo of his dad, the tattoo artist.

The Patriarch
A quick note. Shown here is the father, himself a tattoo artist. As I came to understand it, his father (the grandfather) gave him his first tattoo. Obviously artistic talent runs in the family!
